Week 10

This week I was able to unwrap my low poly model as well as nearly complete my high poly one, I know that I've fallen behind as most students on my course have moved on to the final stage of their texturing, but as this is the first time I have attempted this process I think I've done all right. The main reason why it took so long is because I didn't understand the process of using "floaters" in your normal maps instead of modelling different shapes and hovered them above my model's surface I was individually editing the high poly's topology, which would give slightly better results but meant may have taken hours just to create simple indents into the model and took me days to finish the actual details of the high poly.

the rest of the time this week has been spent on researching how to bake the high poly detail onto my low poly, the process is looking confusing which is stressing me out a bit but I'm sure I'll get a hang of it in the end.
