I've felt a loss of confidence regarding my ability for this project, especially compared to how well the room project went; I feel pretty deflated. I wasn't able to finish this project in time which is setting of red flags in my head, I'm scared to fall back into the same cycle as first year, it's ironic, the behaviours I engaged within on this project whether it be the perfectionism or overworking myself are the main reasons for why I wasn't able to complete this on time. As it was coming closer towards the deadline I had to rush the texture side of my asset which just didn't give it that realistic feel I was going for and looks more like a cheap plastic toy then a intimidating death machine. I wasn't able to incorporate a blueprint for my asset in the UE4 level which meant I was left with just the static model, although this blog post seems quite negative I have learnt a lot more about correct methods to carry out in order to create a successful bake in which I can take with me into future projects; textures aside I do love the look of the model itself, and hopefully in time I can improve my texturing abilities.
